Clear Creek Designs can produce prototype castings or limited production castings for your project. We can reproduce images in a variety of materials. Resin, gypsum (plaster), and ceramic are the most common families of casting material that we use for production casting. These materials offer a vast variety of finish possibilities and looks for your end product.
RESIN-We have pressure casting capabilities for bubble free resin castings. Resin is a good choice where durability and chip resistance is important. Resin can be tinted to achieve almost any transparent or opaque color. It can also take on the appearance of many other materials with the addition of different fillers and pigments. Resin is cast in silicone rubber molds.
GYPSUM-Gypsum products such as Hydrostone and Hydrocal offer an economical solution for many casting applications. Gypsum products are cast in either polyurethane rubber or silicone rubber molds.
CERAMIC-Ceramic castings are light-weight and hollow. Slip casting is achieved by pouring slip (liquid clay) into plaster molds. Many ceramic items are pressed rather than cast. Ceramics are kiln fired and can be glazed or painted. Porcelain, stoneware and terra-cotta are some examples of ceramics.
These parts are cast in a semi-rigid urethane resin. They have an embedded metal part in each casting.
This silicone rubber mold is ready to be demolded. The casting is an opaque urethane resin.
