Tim Vetters Art classes
2012-2013
General information

   About the artist
Mr. Vetters is a 1988 graduate of Asbury College with a degree in art.  He currently works as a sculptor and moldmaker doing commercial and custom work.  Most of his work is done in a studio in his home.  He and his wife homeschool their children on a small farm in Jessamine County.  Mr. Vetters  taught formal art classes on a small scale until 2003, and has offered classes to the community for the last several years.

 Basic class description
  •  Grades 1 - 6 classes
These art classes will provide a well-rounded art education suitable to all skill levels.  Rather than strictly a class on techniques, the classes will also feature instruction on art concepts, studying images from art history, and hands-on work using a variety of 2- or 3-dimensional media such as pastels, acrylic paint, India ink, clay, plaster, colored pencils, canvas, pottery, and much more.
  • Grade 7 and up class
This class will be an independent-study style format within the class setting.  Each student's interest and abilities will be assessed and an individual direction will be developed.  Students may specialize in an area of interest or choose to cover a wide range of media.  Materials cost may be adjusted depending on the media chosen.
  • Grade 6 through adult pottery class
In this class students will explore different forms of making pottery including slab, coil, and wheel-thrown pots.  A variety of glazes will be available for experimenting.  Each student will get 25 lbs. of clay as part of the materials fee.  No experience necessary!

 Class information
All classes will be taught in the Vetters' home at 2224 Clear Creek Road in Jessamine County.  Class size will be limited to 6; each class meeting once per week.  Classes are held throughout the school year, beginning in September.  See the Calendar section below for dates of our 6-week sessions.  The chart following this section indicates class times and prices per 6-week session.  Additional classes may open as need arises.  Family discounts are available upon request.
